Description
Local footpath with a circular route starting and finishing in the town of Cubla, running through the south-east of the municipality. It is 8.1 km long and has a height difference of 335m. It takes approximately 3 hours to complete and is of low to medium difficulty. The route starts in the centre of the town of Cubla, specifically in the Plaza Mayor. You take Calle Manuel Torán which leads to the exit of the village where you have to follow the signposted track which runs along its first part between dry land fields. The track, with a slight upward slope, enters a forest area and runs parallel to the Barranco del Horcajo in some sections, until it becomes a path which goes around the Alto de la Molina, at which point it starts to do down to return to the starting point. On this path we can see an area of great interest as there is a camp with fortifications and trenches from the Civil War. We mustn’t forget the magnificent landscape of the ravine itself, composed mainly of Mediterranean forest. After passing through the area known as “La Quebrantada”, the path widens again and becomes a track a little further on, leading to the “Corral de la Buitrera”; you continue along it until you enter Cubla again, arriving at the Plaza Mayor, the starting point of this route, via the Callejón de las Eras.
