Guide to the use of downloadable tracks
Guide to the use of downloadable tracks
Each of the available routes has, in addition to the information available in its section, a downloadable pdf document and a downloadable computer file (track).
If we access through a computer
If we access through a computer (normally with Windows Operating System) we must follow the following steps:
1 – Download the file
2 – Unzip the file (it is in .zip format and can be unzipped with a programme such as 7zip).
3 – Open our program to manipulate tracks (like MapSource or BaseCamp) and load the track.
4 – Through it we can also load it in our gps.
Access via wikiloc
All the routes on the site have a map of the track that links to the route’s page on wikiloc. Clicking on the name of the route will take you to this page. Once there, after creating an account or registering, you can download the files in gpx format (for the aforementioned software) or kml format (for GoogleEarth). After downloading the file, the process is similar to the previous one.
If we access through a mobile phone
If we access through an Android or iPhone device we have two alternatives. The easiest is to download the wikiloc mobile application (it is charged). Once downloaded, if we go to the wikiloc page of a specific route and choose to download the track for Android or iPhone, the application will give us a code that we have to enter on our mobile. Once you have done this, the route will load and you can follow it. The other alternative is to download the Oruxmaps application. This application is completely free, but to be able to load the routes you need to have more advanced knowledge. On the official website of Oruxmaps you will find the way to carry out the process.
Finally safety warnings
The routes highlighted on our website have been checked one by one by members of our team. However, both the lack of coverage in our province and unforeseen circumstances that may have altered the route make it necessary to make an extra effort to prepare. Please study the routes carefully and choose one that suits your level of physical ability and knowledge of nature.
