How to get there?
Lidón is 49 kilometres from Teruel on the national road 420. From this main road, take the A-1509 at Perales de Alfambra in the direction of Visiedo and continue along the local road towards the Sierra de Lidón. See map

HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE


Church of Santiago Apostol, 17th century, on the Epistle side the domes are decorated with geometric stuccoes of Mannerist style, one of which houses the oldest iconographic group in the province: the Eternal Father surrounded by the symbolic figures of the seven virtues and the Immaculate Conception.
Hermitage of Cristo de Loreto. Baroque work from the 18th century. It consists of a single nave with three bays: The central one is covered with domes on pendentives and the others with a half-barrel vault.
The people of Lidon have a great devotion to the Cristo del Loreto (Christ of Loreto) since, according to tradition, he eradicated cholera and put an end to a great drought that threatened the town.
San Juan Chapel, 18th century.
Lidón Town Hall, built in the 17th century. Its façade, ironwork and trading hall open through three arches are outstanding.
Tolosa Chapel. It is a private oratory made up of a small brick temple.
The Casa de los Marzo, built in the 18th century. It has three floors and on the main façade there is a high quality Baroque stonework façade with the family coat of arms.
Casona del Marqués de la Cañada (18th century). It has a rectangular floor plan and a low tower in the centre of the façade.

FESTIVALS AND TRADITIONS
29th January, San Fabián and San Sebastián. The villagers make a big bonfire to have dinner in brotherhood.
Last Sunday in May, Cristo del Loreto.
10 July, San Cristobal. The Peirón, from where the whole village can be seen, is climbed to bless all the vehicles.
25th July, Santiago Apóstol.
25th August, Dance of Lidón. It is dedicated to the Holy Martyrs. (It has not been performed for many years).
