HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE

 

Ermita de la Virgen de la Langosta, built in 1981 next to the remains of the original 17th century hermitage, which collapsed in the 1960s. A new one was built in 1981.

Church of San Andrés Apostol. It was built in 1762 and in 1830, a beautiful baptistery was built. Only the front of the old church has been preserved. The present single-nave church with a barrel vault and lunettes was completed in the 1960s. The rest of the old church is also the tower, which belongs to the eighteenth-century epigone of the Mudejar tradition, when the Mudejar patterns are framed within a classical volumetry.

19th century houses with balconies with artistic gridwork and attractive eaves.

Peirón de San Lamberto.

Peirón de San Pascual

Peirón de Santa Bárbara. It is currently built into the façade of the last house.

Peirón de la Virgen de la Langosta, where the Calvario begins. The rest of the peirons make up the stations.

FESTIVALS AND TRADITIONS

17 de enero, San Antón is celebrated.

Pilgrimage to the Virgen de la Langosta. Held on the first Sunday in June.

19 de Agosto, San Lamberto is celebrated.

GASTRONOMY

Migas (breadcrumbs), mostachones, mantecados, muffins, garlic soups, porridge with potatoes, honey torrijas, honey black pudding, pig’s feet in sauce, stew and potatoes cooked in “torreta” style.
